The Rural Issues Committee strives to serve as the central advocacy, education/outreach group for rural providers and serve as a sounding board for the state agency to ensure rural needs are considered as regulation, policy and practice are shaped.
The key priority areas the committee is currently focused on include economies of scale, transportation issues, workforce recruitment and retention and medication assisted treatment.
The committee is currently in the process of developing materials to support advocacy with the legislature and state agencies to support policies, regulations and funding to ensure that quality prevention, treatment and recovery services are available to all who need them in rural areas.
