ASAP’s membership includes programs, organizations, individuals, and companies that support effective substance use and problem gambling disorder prevention, treatment, and recovery. Through advocacy at the state and federal levels, ASAP champions the urgent message that substance use and problem gambling disorders are public health issues that with adequate resources can be effectively addressed. ASAP offers professional development, program development, technical assistance, and community education to strengthen and increase access to prevention, treatment and recovery support services.
ASAP serves as a catalyst for cross-systems collaboration with public health, mental health, criminal justice, juvenile justice, child welfare, social services, policy makers and service providers. We represent the field on numerous policy development and implementation work groups with a regional, statewide and national focus.

Unemployment Services Trust: The Unemployment Services Trust has been helping nonprofits save money on unemployment and better manage their claims since 1983. As a grantor trust, UST is owned by its participating nonprofits. These nonprofits come from all sectors across 48 states, and range in size from an average 10 full-time employees up to 1,000+ full-time employees. Currently paying unemployment taxes? For organizations that have not yet opted out of their state’s unemployment tax, UST provides a 2-year savings projection compared to their state tax rate, and files the state paperwork on their behalf to become a “reimbursing employer” when they elect to join UST. Already reimbursing? For nonprofits that have already exercised their right to become a reimbursing employer, UST provides a 2-year claims projection and cash-flow analysis, along with an overview of each of the turnkey benefits they’ll receive as part of UST’s supported reimbursing program: 1) complete claims administration, 2) asset protection, and 3) HR hotline.
